KindredCraft began as a home-based business creating small laser-cut signs. As demand grew, we invested in new equipment to expand our capabilities and purchased our first UV printer.

An Opportunity

An electronics manufacturer approached us about UV printing the information they required on to connectors, They had spent years of manually applying labels to terminal block connectors.The process was time-consuming and costly, highlighting an opportunity for a more efficient, reliable solution.

Developing the Process

To print accurately, we created a 3D jig to hold the connectors at the correct angle. We imported a 3D model of the connector and designed the jig around it, ensuring a consistent and reliable print position.

Once the printed samples were complete, they were submitted for approval by both the company and the end customer.

Results So Far

After sign-off, we quoted for the work and began production. Over the last 12 months, KindredCraft has printed thousands of connectors using this process.

Our Future Plan

We are now looking to offer this service to other companies that use labelled connectors. By printing information directly onto components, we can help reduce manual labour, improve consistency, and save both time and money.
